Joblink

Citilink’s Job Access and Reverse Commute (JARC) project for FFY 2005-2007 will be coordinated from the Hanna-Creighton Transit Center and called Joblink. The project consists of three activity components: Mobility Brokerage, Citilink Service Enhancements, and Comprehensive Contracted Service. These elements are consistent with the area Job Access Reverse Commute Plan and Citilink’s Transportation Development Plan.

Activity 1 - Mobility Brokerage – Citilink will develop a web based job access data bank/information service. This will provide a mobility matching service/carpool program and on-line service information. Meetings with local employers will initiate discount bus pass, commuter tax benefit, car/vanpooling program options. Citilink staff will provide mobility counselor training to corporate & community service professionals to enable them to instruct workers about their travel options. Specialized travel training will be available for persons with disabilities. A targeted marketing campaign will create awareness of the Joblink program.

Activity 2 - Citilink Service Enhancements – Citilink will maintain and promote the Hanna Creighton neighborhood transit center located in the JARC Ridership Zone. Citilink will also extend evening hour service on selected routes and increase service frequency to 30 minutes during peak periods on selected routes.

Activity 3 - Comprehensive Contracted Service – This contracted service will provide a limited number of guaranteed rides home and work trips to employees who need transportation when other resources are unavailable or insufficient (e.g. outside of Citilink service area, late night, weekends, etc.).

The JARC Plan collaborators; City of Fort Wayne, Citilink, Northeastern Indiana Regional Coordinating Council, Community Action of Northeast Indiana, Community Transportation Network, Allen County Job Works, Indiana Family & Social Services Administration will continue to ensure Joblink program and JARC plan implementation. In addition, input and partnership linkages with the Chamber of Commerce Workforce Development Division, Northeast Indiana Workforce Investment Board, the Fort Wayne/Allen County Economic Development Alliance and Indiana Work One/Joblink Fort Wayne office will be incorporated into the implementation of this Joblink program.
