Transit Equity Day Honors Rosa Parks & the Civil Rights Movement

Fort Wayne, IN – Transit Equity Day is a day of action that commemorates the birthday of Rosa Parks, who is an iconic figure in the movements for social justice and racial equality, and she played a major role in ending legal segregation on public transportation systems in the United States during the Montgomery Bus Boycott.

“Citilink understands the important role that public transportation brings to providing an equitable environment in our community, we are proud to share our pledge for exactly that. Transit Equity Day has strengthened many local partnerships with Citilink advocates and we are excited to commit to a focus on Racial Equity” shares CEO of Citilink, John Metzinger.
